Anniversary Weekend

May 2, 2014

Eight year ago, April 26, 2006, a special fellow asked me to be his girlfriend... I said yes.. (duh!) and last weekend we made our way to San Francisco to celebrate eight wonderful years together.

I always get asked if we have kids (why not?) and if we're married and they get this depressed look when I answer no to both those things. God forbid two people be together this long because they both want to not because something else ties them to each other..

I believe in kids after marriage. I believe in really planning and being ready (physically/financially) for kids. I believe in building a strong foundation first. Lastly, I believe I'm young and this is the time to be selfish so I'm not an embarrassing 40 year old mom trying to recapture my youth! ^_~

Things will change and not go as planned, I'm aware life goes like that. But that's the point of this blog, to look back on; maybe you were right, maybe you were wrong and maybe you were full of shit!

Now back to the point of this post.. I'm not mushy but I did write a sort of sweet Instagram post for my fellow..

I had gathered a list of spots (thanks Yelp!) that I wanted us to try and go to so we could avoid the major touristy places and eateries.  We spent half per meal in comparison and the food was 1000% better!

We had brunch at on the infamous (streets) Haight and Ashbury. Window shopped and ran into some guy giving away kittens...

Next was a visit to San Francisco Botanical Garden. 55 acres of the most beautiful views right in the middle of the city!

You can't visit San Francisco without paying a visit to that one bridge. ;)

The last two days (three day trip) included double trips to the Walt Disney Family Museum (that last display got me teary-eyed), Hollow Coffee House (delicious vanilla latte and marshmallow bar in their Titanic II), and the most delicious Ice Cream I've had in a while (pictured is their vanilla with tcho syrup and pistachio brittle).

It was all amazing and I can't wait to go back! I've added more pictures to my Flickr account if you're interested.. I have a couple of great shots that are perfect for wallpapers, I'll work on those this weekend and post them Monday.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

  2. Glad you had a great weekend! I get the same thing all the time. I always get the time is a ticking look but I don't care. I'd rather be selfish now then when i have kids. I totally agree with you. Enjoy life for a while and then you can enjoy your family when its time :))

    1. Thank you for that. I think you get that 'look' from the ones who got married and became mothers super young! Nothing wrong with that but if you have to have an opinion over someone elses relationship then perhaps you're not too happy with yours and that's where I wouldn't want to find myself in the future. You know what I mean?

thanks for visiting my blog though! ^_^
