The day before my birthday I had a doctors appointment. No more than five minutes away from my doctor is the beach and a favorite eatery of mine. It has turned into a wonderful routine: doctor, food, beach. I actually look forward to these appointments!
The week in question was one filled with showers and overcast weather.

In other words, a birthday gift from the gods because it's my favorite weather.

This particular day was no different. Very murky. The magic of editing makes it look warmer than it actually was. I was shooed away by the sprinkling and the need to protect my camera and phone. Priorities.

The beach is always the most relaxing place. So serene.
Dozens of others but the view is so mesmerizing that it feels like it's just you and big blue.

I always get asked if there's wallpapers in posts where I don't include any. I test them to make sure they won't obscure the clock and date. Some are great pictures but don't work as wallpapers and I am using these, so if I don't actually use them, I don't post them.

floral background

Here's a second installment of wallpapers. The first was posted in January and I figured I'd make it a series to bundle up random wallpapers that don't really need a dedicated post.

I have rose bushes all around my home and right about this time is when they're the most beautiful. I'm always running for my camera or phone to capture them for the umpteenth time. A lot of times I delete them or they just sit in my memory card without a purpose. Today was a different story. These were freshly cut and looked so perfect with the bright sunlight. I grabbed my camera and snapped away!

Mama, there's a girl in the castle!

This is the picture I was working on. Much art, much Tumblr.
I received a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday and like the child I am, I spent it immediately. Seriously behind on your TBR? Solution: Buy more books.

Pictured is my iPad Pro (9.7") and Apple Pencil. I'm planning a post on that in the next few of weeks.

flower wallpaper

It's so bright and cheerful, I had to resize it to fit my retina Macbook Pro.

Speaking of bright and cheery. A couple of days ago I found myself in the Kate Spade store. Their spring collection is very bee inspired and I want it all. But Spring nor retail prices last forever. ^_~ I had seen this and this case but the 6s Plus version are only available at Nordstrom. In the back I saw this 'Falling Daisies' and wasn't too excited. I asked the sales woman if I could try it on and it looked a million times better than I thought. Simple, feminine and not embarrassingly childish. *thumbs up* We chatted up a bit and I jokingly said if she wanted to add a discount code, I wouldn't mind... and she did! We're bffs now.
Kate Spade and Sonix make some of the cutest cases and it's hard to not buy them all.

Every Wednesday I make a wallpaper for TEKSide. I keep those wallpapers exclusive to TEKSide. So if you like these type of posts, check them out

As a once in a while disclaimer: these are for personal use and for wallpaper purposes only

I take/edit/draw/sketch them all. Regarding this specific post, I drew the cats and stars and worked them into wallpapers. Enjoy but play nice.

Sephora Spring Sale (2016)

perfume collection

Last year I mentioned waiting to make any Sephora purchases until April to take advantage of the VIB Rouge sale. This year I acknowledged it was coming up but forgot about it until the minute I was ordering. I went through my 'loves' and added away! It ended up in a two way split: Things I wanted to try but did not want to pay full price for and items I needed to restock on.

This is my vanity setup. I need more vanity but I'm really attached to this one. My mom gifted it to me a couple of birthdays ago before she moved to Minnesota and it's been my baby ever since. The lights were added all around to make it old Hollywood but, more importantly, to allow me to see every single pore! Liquid eyeliner is always conquered with these babies on.

Let's start with the items that stick out from the vanity picture, my perfume collection. I've mentioned (in my about me up there↑) a big thing for me is smells/scent. I have the nose of a bloodhound. No, really! I've been upstairs and I shout "Are you eating a snickers bar?" ... I can smell it upstairs. I hate Snickers bars, which probably doesn't help. For the last year or so I've avoided eggs because I can't stand the smell, it's non-pregnancy-related nauseating. I digress. I've always been attracted to fragrances. I was thirteen or fourteen when my mom gifted me my first adult perfume (none fruity teen body spray). To this day it's still a tradition and she gifts dad and me a fragrance for our birthdays or Christmas. Dad and I share a passion for fragrances.

From Sephora I bought Ralph by Ralph Lauren and Happy by Clinique. These two and Miracle by Lancôme are the three I doused myself in all throughout High School. They're the ones that will make me write angry, strong worded, letters if they're ever discontinued. Or more realistically go on eBay and find the vending machine version of them.
I turned twenty-seven this month. This exchange has been going on for over a decade. Mom and I are under an unspoken agreement where we know I know one present I'm getting. I pass along a sample that I've been loving and low and behold... Joyful by Escada. Thanks, Mom!
Now this one smells very much like peonies. Very soft and fresh. Sandalwood undertones intertwine perfectly. Joyful was released this Spring and I got sucked into it's delicate aroma from a Sample in a previous Sephora order. Yes, this is how they get us!

Others I'm loving and will eventually give into waiting on a sale for are: Dolce Rosa Excelsa by Dolce&Gabanna, 'Replica' Flower Market by Maison Martin Margiela and Le Jardin de Monsieur Li by Hermès.

The Flower Fields

Wednesday, April 13

This year, I spent Easter amongst 50 acres of ranunculus. My version of heaven on earth. I have not been shy of my obsessions with all things flowers. Their fragrance, their colors and delicacy.. ah. I could go on for days! Of course, the minute I saw this place ... wait for it ... via the popular page on my Instagram, I knew I had to visit The Flower Fields in San Diego County.

Thanks, algorithm makers!

I just realized around the same time last year I visited the Poppy Reserve. Spring 2017, I'm looking forward to you!

This is the picture I used for April's calendar wallpaper. (here) You can download the calendar and blank version for your mobile devices.

The view from the top of the hill. There's a shopping center right in front and an amazing view of the ocean.

iPhone 6s Plus

A day late but here we are!
Technology was not my friend this week.
It was most likely to do with the three million things on my todo* list (everyday!) and the lack of patience I had to figure out why this or why that.

(*We (neighbors and us) started to TNR (trap-neuter-release) the local ferals. They trap and we do the rest because they're more afraid of cats. One was pregnant, had her babies the next day, one of the babies was not moving very well.. another emergency room visit.. there's a really friendly one who's ready but we're working with a local group to get her adopted, instead. and THEN everyday stuff...)

Pineapple trinkets

Recently I updated my iPhone to iOS 9.3 and had no real issues with it. At least not the ones people were reporting. I updated to iOS 9.3.1 and then they showed up. Great! Apps freeze, randomly force close and Airdrop (on macbook) doesn't seem to recognize my phone. My feelings on it.
I've mentioned that I prefer the black (lockscreen) clock as the reason why most of my wallpapers are on the light side. With iOS 9.3.1 my lockscreen became besties with that hideous gradient overlay. As much as I tried I couldn't get it to show up black on this months wallpaper. Tried other predominantly white wallpapers and those were fine. BLAH. Like I said, technology is not my friend right now.

These last few months (2016) I've started to get into pineapple trinkets and art. I'm pretty sure is because I started to see them more and more and well... who can resist cute/unnecessary items? I found the (white) candle and dish at Target.
Oh, and  I still don't like actual pineapples.
Unless it's in juice form drowned in vodka.

And the wallpaper!

Easter Sunday I visited The Flower Fields ... DREAMY.

This months wallpaper is courtesy of that visit. There's a post in the works for next week with those pictures and couple of wallpapers from that trip. Until then, enjoy this one!

I've uploaded the calendar and a blank version in the Dropbox folder linked at the top of the page (all the way to the bottom in mobile) because Droplr (usual) was an angsty teen this week.
